Resistance of man 2 -- review

I thought it would be a good change to review a game that my friend had recently bought: Resistance 2 for the PS3. I was looking forward to the release of this game as the first one was very good. Although it was one of the earlier titles of the PS3 it was very popular and had good sales.
The second instalment takes place on U.S. soil in 1951 or 52 if I am not mistaken. When I started the game, I was expecting a really good CG scene before accepting to do a new game. There was no CG, but there was one after you started a new game! I stayed happy at that point and was ready to start the game. So you are brought back to the U.S. as you were infected by the Chimera and like magic 2 years pass by and you wake up in an underground facility being invaded by the Chimera. I didn't get much of the story because you aren't told too much about an elite team that you're assigned to. Only that they are also infected. As I roamed around, I noticed that the graphics were much better than the first one. The game seemed to run much more smoothly than it did before. The action part of the game is extremely good as they increased the enemy AI a notch from the first game. The first impression you get you see a huge Chimera walking above you is simply amazing. They definitely didn't hold back on the hugeness of enemies this time around. I found that I died quite often right off the bat! It took me a good 20 minutes to get over the learning curve again and voila!
The action is intense and I was really expecting a good game; however, what really killed me is how fast we managed to finish the game...It took us a total of about 8 hours to finish the game! I was telling my, "What?? Already finished the game!!!" The game costs in Quebec $59.99 +taxes. My friend had just spent about almost $70 for a game that we finished in no less than 8hours. And we didn't even play 8 hours straight either. We actually took our time to enjoy the game, but it's just too short for that price. This would be the only negative thing I would have to say about Resistance 2. If you have an active Internet connection the game becomes a gank fest of laughter as you are pitted against players around the world! In spite of that, the game is really amazing to play and will make many people drool over their PS3's for a long time.
